The IRS has rejected your federal return because the Employer Identification Number (EIN) you entered on the W-2 does not match the IRS database. Please edit the employer EIN to match the IRS records.
How to fix the IRS FW2-502 reject code in MyFreeTaxReturn.com
Enter the return, select the drop-down icon to the left of W-2 Income Page under your Forms In Return.
Select an existing W-2 entry
You will be taken to the W-2 Income page, select the edit pencil icon under Employer at the top of the page.
Select the edit icon pencil next to the EIN to correct the employer EIN with the 9-digit identification number listed on your W-2.
**Once it has been updated, you will need to resubmit your filing. **
To resubmit your filing:
- Continue through until you reach a page that says, Congratulations, your return(s) have been filed.
