What options do I have for getting my refund

MyFreeTaxReturn.com offers three different options to receive a refund:

  • Direct deposit

  • Paper check

  • Refund Transfer

Direct Deposit

The IRS & states allow the taxpayer to request that their personal income tax refunds be sent by direct deposit to their bank account at no additional charge. The IRS states that the Direct Deposit option is the fastest way to receiving refunds from the IRS.

You will need the following information to complete a Direct Deposit refund request:

  • Routing Transit Number - the first two digits of the routing number must be 01 through 12 or 21 through 32. Do not use a deposit slip to verify the number because it may contain internal routing numbers that are not part of the actual routing number.

  • Bank Account Number - the account number can be up to 17 digits. Omit hyphens, spaces, and special symbols. Enter the number from left to right and leave any unused boxes blank.

  • Type of Account - checking or savings account

This information can be obtained from official financial institutions records, account cards, checks or share drafts that contain the taxpayer’s name and address. It is recommended that you check with your financial institution to confirm this information.

Paper Check

You have the option to receive your refund through a paper check. The IRS will mail your check to the address on your return.

What are Refund Transfer products

Refund Transfer products provide additional service to taxpayers by allowing them to pay their filing fees upon receiving their tax refund. They offer the convenience for you to pay our fees from the proceeds of your refund with an added $29.95 Refund Processing Fee. Refund Transfer products are optional and are only available if you choose to e-file your return.

MyFreeTaxReturn.com acts as a transmitter for taxpayers to use this service. Refund Transfer products are offered through Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) and Green Dot Bank. Refund Transfers are deposit products using Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC — they are not loans. The use of these products is not mandatory.

In cases where your refund is not delivered to you by the government, you are still responsible for the payment of fees to MyFreeTaxReturn.com.
