How to check the status of return
Return Statuses & Meaning:
Filed/Submitted: Your return has been successfully filed and submitted to the government agency. You will receive a confirmation email from us.
Accepted: The government agency has accepted your return for processing. No further action is needed at this time.
Rejected: Your return was not accepted due to an issue, such as incorrect information or a filing mismatch.
Follow the instructions in the rejection email to correct and resubmit your return.
Important Information: Real-Time Status Updates
We will send real-time email updates as soon as we receive new information about your return. If your status is not displayed on the Navigation page, it may still be awaiting acknowledgment from the government agency.
Tip: Processing times vary, but we are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Please check your email regularly for updates.
How to check Status
Log in to your account and select Work With Filing for the return you are looking to check on
You’ll be directed to the Navigation page, where you can easily view the status of your return —whether it’s been accepted or rejected.

What if my return is accepted
If your return is ACCEPTED and shows you are due a REFUND, you do not need to take any other action. If your return is ACCEPTED and your return shows a BALANCE DUE, please verify your payment was accepted by the government.

How to file a federal extension (Form 4868)
File a federal extension (Form 4868) by logging in to MyFreeTaxReturn.com, selecting Work With Filing, then Begin a Fed Extension on the Navigation Page. Sign the User Agreement first, then enter your total tax liability, total payments, and amount you're paying.
